Medical and biological physics

Physics principles applied to biological systems and medical technology. The course explores physical phenomena in living organisms and medical devices, combining theoretical foundations with extensive laboratory work focused on practical applications in healthcare and medical diagnostics.

Students investigate biomechanics of tissues, biorheology of body fluids, thermodynamics of biological processes, and medical applications of sound, electricity, and light. Laboratory work includes 15 hands-on experiments covering ECG measurements, blood pressure analysis, optics in vision, laser applications in medicine, and medical imaging techniques including X-ray and CT scans.

The course bridges fundamental physics with clinical practice, preparing students to understand the physical basis of medical technologies and diagnostic procedures.
